Blurb

Angelo Giordano and Dylan Hart are more in love than ever, but their reality is far from ideal. With Dylan working in London, and Angelo recovering from chronic illness in Cornwall, they rarely spend more than few nights under the same sky.

Dylan is struggling. Being apart from Angelo is killing him, and he’s at the end of his rope. Angelo can’t live in London anymore, but can Dylan give up his whole life and move to a place that often feels like the end of the world?

As the end of a tough year approaches, they reach a crossroads. Dylan returns to Cornwall for Christmas and Angelo can’t imagine watching him leave again. Can the love that surrounds them on Whisper Farm show them the way home?

4.25 out of 5 stars

Crossroads is part of the Skins series and is the final book in the series. This book is not a standalone and needs to be read in order with the other books in the series. This novella would contain spoilers for the previous books if read separately.

Crossroads brings us back to Angelo and Dylan, who happen to be my favorite couple in the series. Angelo has been staying with Harry on the farm, working toward building his strength and recovering from his ME. Dylan is living back in London and visiting as often as he can but knows that something has to give between the two of them. Both men are struggling away from each other but both are afraid to bring up the subject to the other person to work toward what would be best for both of them.

The title of this story perfectly fits because Angelo and Dylan are at a crossroads in their relationship. In order to make it work, and keep it working they have to communicate their needs to each other. As they are both struggling with this they've come to a crossroads that makes them both assess what they could possibly live with in the long run. Although it's the verbal communication that's putting the biggest strain on their relationship because neither wants to start the discussion because they're both afraid of the other's potential response.

I loved seeing all the men together with their significant others and settled, for the most part, in their lives with each other. While this story may not have been as gritty or angsty as the other books in the series, it worked for a final wrap up book. Let's face it at some point in a relationship it shouldn't always be angsty and damaging, otherwise that's not a good relationship. This showed all their changes and what they still had to work through to keep their relationships going. In Dylan and Angelo's case it showed them that regardless of where they were, they needed each other and they needed to learn that compromise doesn't mean giving up yourself. It just means that you adapt to each other's needs and still keep yourself happy.

I've enjoyed this series, and this book really worked to bring closure. I highly recommend it as part of the series, but again, it shouldn't be read as a standalone. Only read this one after reading the other books in the series in order.
