Excerpt
I breathe in and out in order to give me time to think. “No,
Prime. I wish to be with you. I’ll do everything you ask of me. I’m yours. You
claimed me. I just wish….”
“What do you
wish?”
I lower my
gaze. What I have to say borders on insubordination. My wolf trembles in fear
underneath my skin. “I wish to be worthy of you. I will do as you ask. I hope
to please you, but I’m
inexperienced. I don’t
want to be
traded or sent
away. Although, I
will go without complaint to whomever
you deem appropriate.”
Prime lifts my
gaze with a hand to my chin. “You are more worthy than you know, Little One. I
will be having words with your father when next we meet. Your upbringing was
less than appropriate. You
are an Omega. You
must submit, but
that does not
mean you are worthless.”
Prime O’Connor
steps back and looks me up and down. “We will talk about that more later. For
now, you needn’t worry. You will be treated well. You are mine, and no one else
will touch you.”
“Thank you,
Prime.”
Prime takes my
hand again and we continue toward the cabin.
As we approach,
I notice people gathering outside. Suddenly, the crowd disperses and a man
walks to the front. Prime squeezes my hand.
“Elliot, stay
here. Stand ready. I need to greet my brother alone. If we turn and walk back,
kneel. Do you understand?”
