Jamie “Roxy” Albright has one great love in his life and room for no other. He lives and breathes makeup. Men are nothing more than temporary distractions and romance… well, that isn’t worth his time. With a burgeoning career as a YouTube makeup artist opening doors to never before dreamed of opportunities, time isn’t something Jamie has and distractions aren’t something he can afford.

Instagram model and shirtless wonder Tyler Jackson is quickly falling for elusive Jamie. How it went from a seemingly innocent message to feelings, he’ll never know. Their chemistry is instant and fiery hot, and Tyler’s never been that good at self control. The challenges are endless, though. There’s Jamie’s walls to break through and a country worth of space between them. And just when things are starting to look up, life throws a wrench in the works.

4.5 out of 5 stars

Contour is the first book in a new contemporary m/m romance series.

What can I say about Contour, other than I absolutely loved this book, and the two main characters! Yes, the topic of the story is more of a trendy current thing, which at some point down the road may date the book. However, the storyline worked very well with these two main characters. Jamie, aka 'Roxy', is a genderfluid vlogger who doesn't do romantic relationships. Raised by his single mother, Jamie learned all about life, relationships, and applying makeup from her. While she was a super supportive mom in all aspects of Jamie's life.. when it comes to relationships, well let's just say her past jaded her viewpoint. Jamie's become super popular on YouTube vlogging about makeup and being who you are and staying true to you.  Despite not doing relationships, he's got his eye firmly addicted to Tyler, a Instagram fitness model with the cutest dogs.

Contour was a well written, solid romance focusing on not just these two characters but their support system. The author showcases both Jamie and Tyler's closest friends as a strong addition to their story. Unfortunately I didn't think that Jamie's mom got enough on scene time, especially for how close she and Jamie were supposed to be. I'm not sure it's a true detraction from the storyline, just more of a 'that doesn't fit' part of Jamie's life. I liked that they started the relationship out as online chat buddies and then moved on to meeting each other, and their friends, and going forward from there. It added a bit more depth to what was essentially a long distance relationship that wouldn't have had a lot of visible parts otherwise.

The only other little oddity, for me, was the ending...although I'm not sure if it's the end of their story or if the next book is more Tyler and Jamie or a different couple. I haven't really seen anything either way, but I may have missed it. I thought that it was missing a bit by not having everyone in both characters lives get together to meet, especially Dan, who is Tyler's best friend. Regardless of those two minor issues, the rest of the book was really good. So good, in fact, that I forgot to put the book down and read most of it in one sitting. Now I'm ....not so patiently waiting for the next book to come out. :-)

This is one to grab and enjoy on a weekend when you have some hours to devote to it, because once you start you won't want to put it down. Jamie and Tyler's banter, and playfulness with each other was just that addictive of a read.
