Will Rowan's festival fling with sexy dancer Seth lead to something more permanent?
Rowan is stuck at a folk festival helping out a mate, and it really isnít his scene. The yoga and singing workshops are bad enough, but morris dancing is the final straw. Bearded men with beer guts prancing around wearing bellsówho wants to watch that?
All Rowan's preconceptions are shattered when he meets Seth, a morris dancer, and the stuff Rowan's fantasies are made of. Seth persuades Rowan to come to a dancing workshop, and Rowan's willing to do whatever it takes to get to know Seth better. The attraction is mutual, and a lesson filled with innuendo and flirting leads to an incredible night together.
When Rowan arrives home, he's gutted to find that Seth has given him the wrong phone number. Assuming Seth did it on purpose, Rowan resolves to forget about him. But fate, and friends, conspire to get them back together. Will they manage to stay in step this time around?
A much shorter version of this story was originally published in the Not Quite Shakespeare Anthology by Dreamspinner Press. This version has been revised and extended. Almost half of it is new content.
3.75 out of 5 stars
Tops Down Bottoms Up is an expanded version of the same story originally published in the Not Quite Shakespeare Anthology. Over half of the content is new for this version.
Rowan completely and utterly sticks his foot in it the first time he meet sexy morris dancer, Seth. After all the way to impress a sexy man is to disparage the activity he's participating in... right? Luckily Seth didn't take offense to Rowan's words and is able to turn the tables on Seth by getting him to try morris dancing.
Okay.. that cover on this updated edition!! OH. MY. GAWD! That is the kind of cover that will grab my eyes, every damn time I see a picture like that. I love the brawny men with long hair, beards, and tattoos and the cover model is perfect for my image of Seth. So if the cover doesn't drag you into the pages of this story... the absolute fun, yet sexy novella that is within the pages should. Seth and Rowan are a great couple of characters and you get a cute, sexy bite of them and their story in this book. For me though this one does fall into the I need more category for short stories/novellas. While it IS an enjoyable story it literally drops you in the midst of their lives and leaves backstory wanting, and also leaves a bit too much empty space around each character that literally begs for fill-in story.
Now don't take that to mean I didn't enjoy the story.. I I did thoroughly enjoyed what's there of the story, I just would have liked more for the characters because I liked them so much. And you will find yourself relating to, and slightly addicted to Seth and Rowan. Both are characters that I'd love to see another novella or even a book with them in it. So I do suggest picking up Tops Down Bottoms Up for one of your almost end of summer reads to kick back with by the pool, or wherever you want to read and enjoy their story.
I always look forward to new books from this author and can't wait for his next upcoming book(s).
